#9 Backup & Restore

Support customised backup paths as well as scheduled backups.

Object Model

Users can configure their own wizards or the existing wizards to create composite objects that can both have associated tags and server configuration as well as the required visualisation associated with the object. When many of the same or similar objects are to be created then a working model (agents, scanning, logging, alarming as well as one or more graphics in the form of wizards) is created from first principles. The user can create an object template using this working model. This can be used to define new instances of this object type in a fraction of the time. This takes re-usability and ease-of-engineering to the next level and leads to higher quality, lower engineering costs and easier and better management of SCADA projects.

Context View

Assigning context to objects of various types can be of great value when it comes to understanding a system. The user can add relevant context to each object template in the Designer and/or Operator. Examples include grouping equipment by Equipment Type, Manufacturer, Energy Rating, Voltage and any other detail important to monitor and manage Objects within a SCADA project. This is useful for navigation and visualisation.

Find and Replace

Find and Replace functionality has been added to a project as well as a graphic form level. When searching a project, the user is only allowed to view the results and will not be able to carry out replace operations. The user can navigate to a graphic form directly. Once the graphic form is selected, the replace operations may be carried out. This will streamline certain maintenance operations.

NASA

NASA is the new Adroit scanning architecture. NASA introduces many improvements to the scanning system as a whole as well as facilitating demand scanning. Demand scanning occurs only when there are active subscribers. The introduction of NASA determines what needs to be scanned and when. Demand scanning of tags reduces the PLC network communications load significantly. Tags are only communicated when subscribed to and needed in the SCADA.

New Licensing model

The new model provides far more flexible licensing options as well as allowing the use of Sentinel’s soft licensing system which is simpler and more robust than legacy soft licensing.

BACNet Driver

Building Automation and Control Network device support.

OPC UA Support

New driver supporting OPC UA compliant OPC servers. This new driver is built on the new NASA scanning system.

New look and feel including selectable light and dark themes

The Smart UI applications now support a light and dark theme that affect how these applications are displayed to cater for different users’ preferences. Users can select which theme they want to use when installing the Smart UI Operator, Designer or Server for the first time during installation.

Advanced Backup and Restore

Backup and Restore now supports customised backup paths as well as scheduled backups.
